Terms of Service

The terms that govern your use of SafliPay, including how SafePay, fees, dispute resolution, and account responsibilities work between you, other users, and the platform.

01Agreement

By downloading SafliPay, creating an account, or initiating a deal, you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the service. These Terms form a binding agreement between you and SafliPay Technologies Limited, a company incorporated in Nigeria ("SafliPay", "we", "us").

02Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally resident in Nigeria to use SafliPay. By registering, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate, complete, and current, and that you are using the service for lawful commercial purposes only.

03Account Registration and KYC

You must provide a valid phone number, email address, and government-issued ID to create an account. New accounts are subject to CBN-mandated tiered KYC limits: up to ₦50,000 per deal at the basic verification tier, and up to ₦500,000 with full liveness and ID verification.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately at hello@saflipay.com if you suspect unauthorised access.

04The SafePay Service

SafliPay provides SafePay as a neutral payment protection service. When a buyer funds a deal, the agreed amount is transferred to a regulated holding account managed by our CBN-licensed banking partners. The seller is notified that funds are secured and may proceed with delivery or performance.

Funds are released to the seller when the buyer confirms receipt of the agreed goods or services, or after the auto-release window lapses with no dispute raised. Neither party can access the SafePay balance while funds are held.

SafliPay is not a party to the underlying commercial agreement between buyer and seller. We do not guarantee the quality, safety, legality, or timely delivery of goods or services exchanged through our platform.

05Fees

The buyer pays a platform fee at the time of funding a deal. Fees are displayed before confirmation and are non-refundable once a deal is funded.

  • 1.5% of the deal amount (minimum ₦100) for deals under ₦50,000.
  • 0.75% for deals of ₦50,000 and above, capped at ₦1,000 regardless of deal size.
  • An optional insurance add-on of 0.5% is available for deals of ₦50,000 or more, covering full refund if goods are not delivered.

The seller receives the full agreed deal amount with no deductions made from the payout. A flat ₦50 fee applies to each bank withdrawal from your SafliPay balance.

06Dispute Resolution

Either party may raise a dispute before the auto-release window closes. Once raised, SafePay funds are frozen immediately and remain frozen until a resolution is issued. Both parties have 24 hours to submit evidence, including screenshots, receipts, delivery confirmations, photographs, or any relevant documentation.

SafliPay's review team will evaluate the agreement and the evidence submitted by both parties and issue a binding outcome within 48 hours. The outcome may be a full release to the seller, a full refund to the buyer, or a negotiated split. SafliPay adjudicates based solely on the agreed terms and submitted evidence. We do not take sides.

The dispute outcome is final and binding on both parties. Neither party may contest an outcome through the platform once it has been issued.

07Prohibited Use

You may not use SafliPay to:

  • Transact in illegal goods, controlled substances, counterfeit items, or prohibited services.
  • Launder money, finance terrorism, or evade regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Circumvent KYC controls or misrepresent your identity.
  • Create multiple accounts to abuse tiered verification limits or referral programmes.
  • Submit false, fabricated, or misleading evidence during a dispute.
  • Use the platform to harass, defraud, or coerce other users.

Violation may result in immediate account suspension, fund freezing pending investigation, and referral to the EFCC, CBN, or other relevant authorities.

08Withdrawals and Payouts

Confirmed funds in your SafliPay balance may be withdrawn to any Nigerian bank account. Withdrawals are processed on business days and typically settle within one to two hours. SafliPay is not liable for delays caused by the receiving bank or intermediary payment infrastructure.

09Intellectual Property

All content, trademarks, software, branding, and platform technology are the property of SafliPay Technologies Limited or its licensors. You may not reproduce, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the platform without our written permission.

10Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Nigerian law, SafliPay's liability to you is limited to the value of the funds held in SafePay for the transaction in dispute. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, including loss of business, profits, reputation, or data, arising from your use of the platform or any dispute outcome.

11Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, if we reasonably suspect fraudulent or illegal activity, or if required by regulation or law enforcement. You may close your account at any time by contacting us at hello@saflipay.com. All outstanding SafePay deals must be resolved or cancelled before your account can be closed.

12Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any dispute arising from these Terms shall be referred first to mediation. If unresolved within 30 days, it shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Lagos State, Nigeria.

13Updates to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via in-app notification or email at least 14 days before the effective date. Continued use of SafliPay after the effective date constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
